At the risk of being certified Cynical and Sarcastic, I am going to pour my recent thoughts out here.
2014 ended, a new year 2015 just began, so what? I fail to understand the hoo-haaw about a simple change in date. For some people this is a day to celebrate, a day for another party but for most of the people across the world it is just another day. The Sun would go down, and come up the next day, like it always does and I doubt if it is going to change the routine in any of ours’ lifetime.
The date on the calender will change, in fact the calender will change if you are still using those printed calenders. If you are are more or a modern person and have taken up using electronic gadgets or mobiles, you would be oblivious to even this tiny change. Everyone will go back to doing what they were the day before. If you are doing all healthy and doing well in life, you will find another reason to party the next day. On the other hand if you are one of those stuck in the vicious circle of life it’s just another day passed and another looking you in the face. Everyday you thought of a day ahead, today you will be thinking of a year ahead, it definitely sounds dreadful to me.
Oh yes, this is also a time to make new resolutions. WTF! Why does one have to wait 365 days to make a resolution to improve something in their life, which of course will be deliberately forgotten in a few days or weeks. And you will be back to whom you always have been because if you really wanted to improve something in your life, any day is as good. No?
Hmm so if anyone has any good reasons why this particular change in calendar is important, please do let me know. Feel free to leave a comment below.
